In this guide you can read about what power injection is and why it occurs.
Why is that?
The wires we use to power our pixels have resistance, so when we send current through them, some of the voltage is converted into heat, this phenomenon is called voltage drop.
How do you do it?
Power injection is to counteract voltage drop, in many cases you will pull one or more wires to the object of use, this way the total resistance in the cables is reduced and so is the voltage drop.
In the picture below you can see an example of how to do power injection. Many people use a power distribution board to secure these connections against short circuits.

Calculate voltage drop
Below you can see an example of how much you can drive without power injection, calculated after there is 3m to the first pixel. NOTE: Only indicative, may look different in the real world.
5v
- At 100% you can run 50 pxels without power injection.
- At 30% you can run 140 pxels without power injection.
12v
- At 100% you can run 100 pxels without power injection.
- At 30% you can run 230 pxels without power injection.
Important!
When doing power injection, be careful not to mix positive(+) from multiple power supplies as this can result in overvoltage and fire.
