Beskrivelse
The K8-Max is a cape for the PocketBeagle 2 that is designed to drive ws281x LED pixels. It has 8 local ports that can each drive up to 800 pixels (with power injection) at 40FPS. In addition, it features 4 RJ45 differential ports capable of driving an extra 16 pixel strings via differential receivers. Finally, it includes one RS485 output supporting DMX, PixelNet, Renard, and LOR protocols.
The K8-Max is equipped with a Real Time Clock (RTC) to maintain accurate time, a temperature sensor, input voltage sensors, an OLED display with navigation push buttons, three powered USB ports, onboard sound, a socket for an FM transmitter, and a Gigabit Ethernet port (wired via USB2, providing up to approximately 300Mb/s throughput).
The cape provides:
- 8 pixel connectors arranged in banks of four.
- Each bank of four supports any voltage from 5V – 24V
- Each pixel string is protected by an eFuse with current monitoring, electronic fuse protection, and instant alerts
- Each string can supply up to 6A of power
- 4 RJ45 connections for up to 16 additional pixel strings via differential receivers
- 1 RJ45 connection for DMX/LOR output
- On-board PCM5102 DAC with headphone jack for audio output
- Header for connecting an FM transmitter
- 3 USB-A connectors for WiFi adapters or other USB devices
- Gigabit Ethernet connector
- Expansion header pins providing 8 GPIO outputs plus access to the I2C bus, 3.3V power, and ground
- Integrated temperature sensor
- Real Time Clock (RTC)
- 5V 4-pin PWM cooling fan connector
- 8 user-accessible GPIO pins for adding buttons, proximity sensors, or other inputs to trigger effects and custom functionality
You will need:
- PocketBeagle 2 – the K8-Max will NOT work with a PocketBeagle 1
- A high-quality SD card with the latest FPP image installed. The K8-Max requires at least FPP 9.0 for full functionality. The latest FPP images can be found at https://github.com/FalconChristmas/fpp/releases/
