How does a Differential Receiver work?

To understand how a Differential Receiver works, we need to start with the controller.

The controller creates a pixel signal, which is then sent through a chip where it is split into two signals, a positive (+) and a negative (-) signal, also called a data pair. Along with 4 other data pairs, the signals are routed to an rj45 connector, which makes it possible to make an easy and flexible connection with a Differential Receiver.

The Differential Receiver then receives the 4 data pairs via the RJ45 connector, where they are individually sent through a chip that “reassembles” the signal. So you now have a signal that pixels can understand. But the signal directly out of this chip is weak (3.3V), so it is sent through another chip that amplifies the signal to 5V. To protect the chip, a small resistor is added before the signal reaches the connector where the pixels can be connected, from there the signal can now “run” up to 10m to the first pixel without data problems.
